Stay up to date with the latest features, improvements, and bug fixes for xDIM mobile dimensioning software.
xDIM Release Notes 01/03/2023
NOTE: This release has not been recertified for use in Legal for Trade (NTEP) mode. Current NTEP mode users should remain on v2.4.4. Certification of this version is planned for Q1 2023.
xDIM Performance: Improvements to the measurement algorithm have resulted in significantly higher performance and significantly reduced capture times compared to previous releases.
xDIM User Guidance: A new user guidance feature has been added to the measurement capture screen for 1-Step Corner Method measurements. The new Y-shaped guide helps the user align the box in the ideal 45° perspective for optimal measurement capture.
xDIM Measurement Result Image: The blue and red lines displayed on the box image after it has been captured are moved from the bottom to the top edges of the box to better reflect the actual edges that are measured.
xDIM Scale Height Adjustment: A new optional feature enables the simultaneous dimensioning and weighing of boxes. Previously, boxes had to be placed on the floor to be dimensioned, then weighed in a separate step. With this option enabled, the height of the scale will automatically be deducted from the vertical (height) measurement, resulting in correct box dimensions and weight in a single step. A manual override feature is also provided to address situations where the height may not need to be adjusted even if the box is positioned on the scale. Scale height adjustment options are set in Insight.
xDIM Measurement Upload: An issue was resolved where measurements queued for upload would not upload following an interruption to wireless connectivity. Queued measurements will now be uploaded once connectivity is restored.
xDIM Queued Measurement Notification: Previously, measurements queued for upload were lost if the user exited the application. A change has been made to provide a notification if measurements remain in the upload queue when the user attempts to exit. In this case, the user should allow the application to complete the upload process before exiting.
xDIM Custom Dimensional Weight Calculation: Resolved an issue where the Custom Dimensional Weight calculation was incorrect in certain circumstances. The custom calculation is now performed correctly. Note that custom calculations are in user-defined units, thus are never converted between metric and Imperial.
xDIM Returning Zero Measurements: In rare cases, xDIM would incorrectly return a box measurement of all zeroes. This issue has been resolved.
Insight User License Options: When assigning a license to a user, only licenses for which the organization has a subscription will be displayed. Previously, licenses for which the organization lacked a subscription were also displayed.
Insight License Expiration Date: The expiration date for current license subscriptions is now displayed in the Subscriptions & Payments view. This allows the Manager role to quickly confirm when licenses will be renewed.
Insight Users Sorting & Filtering: A feature has been added to allow the Users view to be sorted alphabetically (ascending or descending) by Name, Email, or Subscription. A feature has also been added to filter displayed users by Name, Email, or Subscription.
Insight Templates Sorting & Filtering: A feature has been added to allow the Templates view to be sorted alphabetically (ascending or descending) by Name, Specification, or Last Updated Date. A feature has also been added to filter displayed templates by Name, Specification, or Last Updated Date.
Insight Measurement Settings: Previously, the Insight Measurement view would reset to default table settings of 12 items per page in List View each time the view was accessed. A change has been made to retain the user’s settings for these options so that the Measurement View always comes up in the preferred configuration.
Insight Measurement Image: The blue and red lines displayed on the box image have been moved from the bottom to the top edges of the box to better reflect the actual edges that are measured.
Insight Documentation: The Documentation section of the Insight Left Side Menu has been updated to provide links to the Quick Start Guide, User Guide, and Release Notes. Previously, links were provided to an Installation Guide and FAQ & Best Practices document. These resources have been incorporated into the User Guide.
Insight CSV and API Export Headings: Measurement Fields 1-6 were previously exported with generic field headings, e.g., “Descriptor1” or “Field3”. For increased clarity when processing this data, these fields will now use the headings set up on the Organization General tab. Note that fields which have not had a heading set up in Organization will continue to use the generic names.
Insight API GET by Date/Time Call: An API call has been added that allows retrieval of measurement data by date/time range. The call takes start date/time and end date/time as parameters and returns all measurements falling within the specified range.
